Change

Alice: "From the moment I fell down that rabbit hole, I've been told what I must do and who I must be. I've been shrunk, stretched, scratched and stuffed into a Tea Pot. I've been accused of being Alice and not being Alice, but this is my dream!!! I'll decide where it goes from here!

Dog- If you diverge from the path...

Alice- I make the path!!!

A famous quote from "Alice in the Wonderland", I bet all of us won't miss it if we have been watching this movie. Just as others will be, this quote keeps playing over and over again in my mind.

Ever since I was young, simplicity seemed to be my deliverance. All my thoughts and actions taken were tend to be easy and convenient. I always ask people, why make things complicated while it can be ratified in an easier way? Yes, it sounds true and it is indeed positive not to get yourself haywire for those complicated things. I am generally better in breaking down the sophisticated structure into simple parts so I can tackle it easily.

However I am quite often misinterpreting the terms in a wrong way, whereby simplicity and lazy is sometimes a little difficult for me to judge their differences. Just because I don't like involving myself in any troublesome, it has beyond my reach to take things seriously, at least it doesn't earn my incentive to pick up effort, and hence I perceived myself losing a lot of opportunities. I used to tell myself this is the road not to be taken, for those that look sophisticated to me. I just didn't like to dedicate myself to take any responsibility, especially working on trivial matters.

Fortunately, a series of unfortunate incidents happened, throughout my childhood, teenage and even until my current time. I had a hard time to walk through the miserable life that truly made me suffocating.  Just believe that sometimes life is going to hit me with a brick, when it doesn't kill me, it grows me stronger. To pick up a responsibility that one has to shoulder, then I realized I shall cry no more, not losing faith, starts to build up the demolished structure and unleash the power within.

At that moment, I knew it was destined to make a change, that could help me to take a huge leap, by unlocking my greater potential, enhancing the quality of life of my family members, as well as realizing my lifelong dreams. To put it simple, it is all about finding my path to happiness.

Indeed, making a change wasn't sounds as simple as barely looking at the derived meaning from the words. It might be taking a longer time to correct our working attitude, cultivate the passion and interest on things we would like to achieve, and the foremost part, it is all started from the shaping of our thoughts.

Sarcastically, it has been found that most of the people are busy for things that they do not achieve in the end, they merely gain the fulfillment in terms of joy and embeddedness. I have been one of them too. It recalls me the time when I first joined public mutual as an unit trust sales agent, all of us were being delegated a sales target to be achieved, however the results that under the monitoring were often disappointing, simply because people tend to have different priority setting in a group, some may think that they were busy for other things, some may feel it was getting them too little motivation to work towards their goals, for me, being the worst part, I was just being there for self-enrichment for investment stuffs learning. Sooner or later, I realized it was a waste of time for me and neither I have any sense of belonging nor commitment to stay in the group, I quickly withdrew myself from bursting my time further. It has been the greatest failure for me not to have any science of achievement and art of fulfillment there.

Life is like a seesaw, swinging up and down, so does the same for achievement and failure. I used to remember someone taught me a lesson on "You are your own ultimate guide for your journey towards happiness." That person has become a role model of mine, no matter under what circumstances. To think positively and willing to take up any challenges, never give up easily when being defeated, it is up to us to rule our life, not ruled by life.

Finally, I am sincerely hoping that my persistence is last longer than no one is, that can keep me inspired and moving. Live beyond my wildest dream, and take 2mm step each day, which will make a great difference between others and I one day in the future.

“Your time is limited, so don’t waste it living someone else’s life. Don’t be trapped by dogma – which is living with the results of other people’s thinking. Don’t let the noise of other’s opinions drown out your own inner voice. And most important, have the courage to follow your heart and intuition. They somehow already know what you truly want to become. Everything else is secondary.”  ~ Steve Jobs
